TempCAD Maker: Finally Live on Google Play!

After months of development, testing, and refining, I'm thrilled to announce that TempCAD Maker is now available for free on Google Play! This release represents a major milestone for our project and introduces our innovative 3D template technology to makers, electronics enthusiasts, and DIY creators everywhere.

What Makes TempCAD Different?

Unlike traditional CAD software that requires technical expertise or simple scaling tools that distort important features, TempCAD uses our proprietary template system that lets you "move walls" rather than scale entire models. The result? Professional-quality 3D printable enclosures that perfectly fit your electronics projects without compromising structural integrity.

How It Works: From Concept to Print-Ready in Minutes

The app follows an intuitive workflow designed for makers, not CAD professionals:

First, photograph your electronics. Take pictures of your PCB, battery, or other components. While you can capture from multiple angles, we recommend focusing on the top view and any sides with connectors, as many templates feature dedicated areas for ports and interfaces.

Next, enter key measurements. Input the dimensions of your electronics, and TempCAD builds the volume that needs to be enclosed. Accuracy matters here, but don't worry about being perfect—our templates are adaptable.

Then select your template from our library. This is where you decide the style and functionality of your enclosure based on your project needs.

Here's where the magic happens! Adjust the sliders to make your chosen template conform to your volume. Unlike traditional scaling, this "shrinking" process preserves all technical features—screw holes maintain their diameter, wall thickness remains consistent, and snap-fit connections stay functional.

With your custom enclosure ready, simply hit the Export button to save as STL or OBJ formats for your 3D printer. Don't have access to a printer? No problem! Use our Share button to automatically connect with local 3D printing services in your area.

Our Template Collection

We've packed TempCAD Maker with versatile templates for nearly any project. The PCB Mount gives you a simple way to secure circuit boards. Our Dome enclosure provides an elegant housing solution with a distinctive curved top.

The Battery Box comes with front and back lids secured by screws, perfect for components that need regular access. For camera projects, check out the Slider enclosure where front and base form a rigid piece—ideal for stable mounting.

My personal favorite is the Simple Snaps enclosure with detachable front and back lids. It's perfect for those who frequently tinker with their electronics and need quick access while experimenting.

For more complex projects, the Front-Paneled enclosure is, without exaggeration, the best beginner's template for almost every purpose. It features simple snaps and a screwed front panel perfect for cameras, touchscreens, or speakers, while the back accommodates connectors and cables.

We didn't forget wearable projects! Our Wearable template comes complete with a wristband attachment system. Need something extra sturdy? The Rigid Box features reinforced ribs for additional strength.

The Mount for Pole template lets you secure your device to walls or other surfaces, while our Drawer for electronics features a clever stacking system with side sliders that connect multiple units together.

And yes—we even included an RC Car Chassis that adapts to different wheel diameters and adjusts the length and width of the wheelbase while maintaining the design integrity. This isn't just scaling—the entire design updates to accommodate your specifications.
